River Thames Session

The club paddle the Thames Tideway on a regular basis throughout the year depending on availability of session leaders.  We ran weekly sessions on Tuesday evenings during the summer months, meeting at the club container at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.  If we have two group leaders available then we can have two groups of up to 6 paddlers

This part of the Thames is tidal and as such there can be strong currents. These sessions are not suitable for complete beginners. You must have experience and knowledge of capsize and rescue drills, which can be obtained at the pool sessions. You must also be able to paddle in a relatively straight line most of the time.

Please contact us if you would like to attend a session and give details of your previous kayaking experience.

Where and when

Tuesdays  7pm during summer months. Run on ad hoc basis during winter months at weekends.

We meet at our container at Barns Elms.  During Winter months when it is dark in the early evening, we meet at The Ashlone Building, Embankment, Putney SW15 1LB, end of the road before the towpath, and walk up the path together for safety and security.
