[edit] Where and When

Each Tuesday we meet at Putney Leisure Centre in Dryburgh Road, Putney SW15 for our regular Canoe Polo session. The session starts at 9.00pm (we meet at pool side at 8.50) and runs until 10.30pm at which point we run over the road to the Arab Boy for last orders.

If you want to join us, please contact us and see below for details on our beginners sessions.

[edit] Cost

Prices for polo are:

£10 per session for non-members

£7 per session for members

or just £40 for 8 sessions (sessions can be carried but must be used up with 12 weeks)

This money is paid directly to BCC (not the leisure centre), please bring cash to the poolside and pay there.

[edit] Kit

We can supply a complete range of kit (except swimming costumes) and players are advised not to bring their own boats as we play in plastic and any carbon/fibreglass boats are likely to end up dead in a short space of time.

[edit] First Tuesday of the month

Beginners Session

First Tuesday of the month is the be nice to beginners session in which we will try to explain some of the finer points of the game, give time for rolling practice, not push people over quite so much and that sort of thing.

We look forward to seeing players of any standard then. But please note that this is not for complete beginners to kayaking. You would be expected to have some experience in a boat before attending - see Get Involved for more info on starting out)

[edit] Competitions

As well as our regular practice games, we play in a range of tournaments and competitions.

The Battersea men's polo team competes in the National Division 4 South East. While not quite winning the league, we are pleased with our performance and look forward to the next season. Match reports can be found here.

From this season, our ladies team will compete in the national Women Division 2.

And this summer, we have played with a mixed team at the Welsh Canoe Polo Open over 31st July to 1st August and the London International competition over 14 to 15 August. While the reports are being written, here's a list of past summer competitions we played at.
