Membership costs just £25 a year, and is available to people over the age of 18. Benefits include:
- Discounts to weekly river and polo sessions
- Free coaching and tuition from experienced paddlers
- Access to club paddling kit and boats at discounted rental rates
- Access to other club members via the BCC Google Group
- Access to club merchandise
- BCU Third Party Insurance cover when on club trips
- Discounts at several canoe shops (e.g. Whitewater The Canoe Centre, Shepperton)
- Trips and social events organised
- Priority to attend trips (river, surf, etc) will also be given to Full Members
Unfortunately we do not have any capacity to store private boats or equipment. Occasional very short term storage may be possible, but our container is generally full of club boats and any space freed up will be taken up by the expanding club fleet as we purchase more club equipment. We have initiated discussion with the Council about the possibility of expanded storage, but this may take a while.
[edit] Its that time of year again – BCC subscription renewal…

You can open/download the membership form as a pdf 2010 Membership Form or you could request a Word version here.
The membership year runs to the 1st October of each year. Full Membership rates for 2009/10 are £25 if joining up to the 1st May 2010, and for paddlers completely new to BCC joining after this date a reduced fee of £15 is payable. Associate Membership is available to former BCC paddlers who are located outside of London and not able to participate in regular club activities but still want to be keep up to date with latest club news.
Payments can either be made by cheque, payable to Battersea Canoe Club, in person at one of the weekly sessions, or via telephone or online banking (contact Ellie for details).
We have experienced such a flood of new paddlers in recent months with far more people approaching us than we can realistically cope with. If you have no or limited paddling experience we are currently keeping a waiting list. We would rather not have you join until you are sure paddling is for you. Please contact us if you would like to be added to this list and please be patient! Even if you have experience, if you are new to the club please contact us before sending your form or money to find out which will be the most suitable session to come along to, as they can often be full.
