Battersea Canoe Club is a relaxed and very sociable London canoe club with a great mix of abilities and canoe/kayak interests. We are always happy to welcome newcomers - complete beginners and experienced canoeists / kayakers alike (see note below).
BCC endeavours to provide opportunities for a clear and safe progression of learning and ability to its club members.
We have a lot of talented and experienced paddlers who are always willing to help, coach and discuss. All members are encouraged to make full use of this experience and knowledge as it is the club’s greatest resource.
We are a trip orientated club and our activities can broadly be divided into a series of progressive steps to get you to this stage:
6. Training
So if you are new to paddling get in contact with us and we’ll give you some advice on how to start out and get involved!
NOTE: We have experienced a flood of new paddlers in recent months with far more people approaching us than we can realistically cope with. If you have no or limited paddling experience we are currently keeping a waiting list. We would rather not have you join until you are sure paddling is for you. Please contact us if you would like to be added to this list and please be patient! Even if you have experience, if you are new to the club please contact us before sending your form or money to find out which will be the most suitable session to come along to, as they can often be full.
