[edit] Welcome to Battersea Canoe Club

This site is an update to the old www.batterseacc.freeserve.co.uk site with the intention of making the site WAY more dynamic (tough to be worse). Anyone can author this site but please read the Help Hub first, or at least glance at it and play in the Sandbox. Start with Help:Editing and take it from there.

You must now register and log-in, we have made this rule to deter vandals a little bit, blocking them is easy but tiresome!

[edit] Your Contribution

The concept and the software behind this site are that of the online Encyclopedia Wikipedia. This is a collaborative development, just correct a spelling error or add ten new pages, it's up to you. With contributors this site will become active and dynamic. Without, it won't.

If you follow a link and there is nothing there then that is because the page has not been written yet, please go ahead and write it.

[edit] Warning

Like the rest of our world the web is subject to vandalism, and the downside of a wiki is that it is childishly easy to deface. Our only defence is you so if you see anything abusive or rude then DELETE IT.

Due to the continuing efforts of spammers we have made it so that you must register an email address to edit pages.

If you have not yet set up your email address then please go to my preferences and do so - you will be emailed a link to confirm your address is valid. You can then edit pages and provide email links that hide your address, eg (Email Ian). Any problems then do email Ian. I am currently deleting lots of old spam user accounts, if I accidentally delete a real one (shouldn't happen but might) then accept my apologies and please create it again. No page content should be lost.

[edit] Top Tips

How to edit a page: go to the page, then click on the "edit" tab.

Adding a new page is so simple the IT literati amongst you are struggling with it (Dave - I am disappointed in you). The trick is create a link to the page you want by surrounding its name with double square brackets [[My new page name]] then just click on this link and a shiny new page will be created ready for you to fill in. On a wiki it is also acceptable to create links to pages that you'd like someone else to build at a future date. My new page

Play in Sandbox.

How to save what I put in: click on "save page" at the bottom
